Arkansas star Beverley will not play next season

08/08/2008 - Fayetteville, AR (Sportsbook Betting Lines) - Arkansas guard Patrick Beverley will not play for the Razorbacks this season, the school announced Friday.

A press release from the Arkansas athletic department stated: "junior guard Patrick Beverley will not compete for the Razorbacks in the 2008-09 basketball season," offering no further explanation.

The school also said its administrators and coaches will have no further comment due to student privacy laws.

The 6-foot-1 Beverley averaged 12.1 points and a team-high 6.6 rebounds last season.
